Distant Reiki offers a convenient and affordable way to experience healing without needing to travel. It can be particularly helpful if you are fitting a session around family life or shift work, are housebound, have limited mobility, or simply live too far away to visit the clinic. Your treatment takes place while you relax in the familiar surroundings of your own home. Distant Reiki is based on the principle that healing energy is not limited by physical distance, allowing practitioner and recipient to connect energetically without being in the same place. The quietness of distant healing One of the things I particularly value about distant healing is the stillness it creates for both practitioner and client. While you are resting peacefully at home, I am also working in a quiet, calm and meditative environment. This allows me to focus fully on your treatment and may also enable intuitive or psychic impressions to arise. Where appropriate, I can share these with you following your session. Preparing for your treatment About 15 minutes before your appointment, find somewhere comfortable where you can lie down and relax. Switch off non-essential notifications and background distractions, put your phone aside and give yourself permission to step away from everything else for a little while. Close your eyes and gently bring your awareness to the natural rise and fall of your abdomen as you breathe. There is no need to connect by camera or microphone, and there is nothing you need to achieve or consciously do. Simply settle, relax and set a gentle intention to be open and receptive to the healing experience. Allow yourself this time and space to receive. What might I experience? Reiki can feel very subtle. During your treatment you may simply experience a deep sense of relaxation or peacefulness. Everyone's experience is individual, and there is no particular sensation that you need to feel for the session to be meaningful. Sometimes changes are noticed more gradually afterwards, unfolding quietly over time — rather like a seed beginning to grow.
